Each residence community is as unique as the students in it, and offers residents a warm, familiar place to call home during their time at Acadia.

Benefits of Living on Campus
Living on campus helps you get the most from your Acadia experience. Studies show that living on campus is one of the most influential factors for academic success and graduation rates for university students. Students who live on campus tend to achieve higher grades, have a higher level of involvement with their university, and report greater satisfaction with their overall university experience.
Convenient Living
By living on campus, you save money by making one payment that covers all of the costs: rent, furniture, local telephone service, Internet service, water, electricity, heat. There is no guessing about how much a utility bill is going to be from month to month and no having to find someone to sublet if you choose to do an internship or to study abroad for a semester.
Residence Life at Acadia offers the option of either sharing with a roommate or having a private room, while enjoying the advantages of access to Acadia’s high-speed network, laundry facilities in every residence, and the shortest commute to classes, the library, and recreational facilities.
Residence Life Staff
Each residence has a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) who work to build and maintain a sense of community in the residence. RAs are fellow students who have first-aid certification and have learned about resources on campus so that they can help with any questions you may have. In residence, you can find an RA at any hour to help you, answer your questions, or direct you to where you can get an answer. RAs also help organize activities in residence, so let them know what sorts of things you’re interested in doing, from social events to community service to organizing study groups with people in the same classes. House Councils also offer social activities for residents. In residence, your neighbours are fellow students with whom you can connect to play on the house’s hockey team or to share experiences of classes that all of you have taken. Residential students form lasting bonds of friendship that carry on long after graduation.
Safety
Safety is a priority on campus and assistance from Safety and Security is available 24 hours a day. In residence, you can call security with one push of a button on your room phone, which also features call display. All residences have controlled access and are equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems. In addition, a free evening shuttle is available on campus.
